Dr. Shelby Mecke grew up in Bulverde, TX, where she actively played soccer, softball, and raced motocross growing up, until she experienced a medical condition that halted her participation. But her love and knowledge of sports only continued to grow. Shelby remained connected to many of her high school teams by volunteering her time to assist in a variety of ways.
After high school graduation, Shelby attended Texas A&M University where she graduated from with a Bachelor of Science degree in Allied Health. She began her work and mentorship under Dr. Steven Stratton, PT as a physical therapy technician in 2015 and continued to develop her understanding and her knowledge of corrective and rehabilitative exercises through 2018.
During this time she grew a desire to continue a path to help patients in recovery, rehabilitation, and preventative care to maintain an active and pain free lifestyle. In 2018, she started her chiropractic journey at Parker University in Dallas, where she obtained her Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2021. While at Parker University she was a member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA).

Shelby is certified in Webster Technique to expand upon her proficiency in treating pregnant women and pediatrics. She has gained a certification in Active Release Technique and done continuing education in Trigger Point Dry Needling.
Shelby practiced at Stratton Sport & Spine in San Antonio, TX as an associate Doctor from May 2021 until Nov 2025, when she opened her own clinic— River City Sport & Spine. In those four years, Shelby sought mentorship and developed her skills alongside Dr. Brock Stratton, DC, ART, F.I.A.M.A. Shelby also teaches a continuing education course called “Mastering the Knee Complex” to other chiropractic doctors through Chiro21, LLC.
In her spare time, she enjoys being out on the lake, spending time with family and friends and being a dog mom to her two rescue dogs, Sadie and Luna.
